CURRENT JOB OPENINGS

MEMBERSHIP SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE

Part-Time Non-Exempt

 

Provides consistent and professional customer service to Y members and guests. Checks in and screens members upon their arrival, provides member services support including answering members’ questions. Manages online reservations and maintains safety and health protocols for the lobby area.

 

Essential Functions (partial listing):

 

  • Maintains a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward members, guests and Y staff.
  • Presents a professional first impression of the YMCA. Maintains the welcoming appearance of the Membership Services desk, the lobby and front of the Y building.
  • Screens members and staff upon entry with health questions and temperature checks. Reminds members of Y health and safety protocols including wearing appropriate facial coverings and offers masks as needed.
  • Processes reservations, new memberships, changes in status, insurance forms, and requests.

LIFEGUARD

Part-Time Non-Exempt

Morning & Mid-Day Shift

 

The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring that no drowning or other adverse events occur for users of the pool, including the warm therapy pools and on-deck showers and equipment. The Lifeguard maintains constant surveillance of swimming pools during all times the pool is being used by YMCA members, guests, and/or staff. The Lifeguard promotes and serves as a role model for safe behavior by consistently following and enforcing facility health, safety and other rules and regulations, and responding to and caring for emergencies in and out of the water.

 

Essential Functions (partial listing):

 

  • Follows and enforces YMCA policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.
  • Understands and adheres to all Lifeguard duties including frequent patrolling of the pool area and lockers.
  • Recognizes and immediately responds effectively to emergencies both in the pool and Y-wide.
  • Ensures the pool deck is monitored during and after emergencies.

YOUTH BASKETBALL REFEREE

Part-Time/Temp Non-Exempt

 

YMCA Youth Basketball Referees must model positive character, sportsmanship and teamwork. In addition, they must have the ability to appropriately communicate and hold participants accountable for rules and regulations.

 

Essential Functions and Requirements:

 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to referee creating an environment in which children feel respected and engaged in the activity. Must maintain a safe & fun youth environment while being encouraging & enthusiastic.
  • Upon hiring must complete background check, maintain CPR, First-Aid and complete YMCA required trainings.
  • Must have the physical ability to stand, walk, run for extensive periods of time. Must have the visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.

LEAD PRESCHOOL TEACHER

Full-Time Non-Exempt

 

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Lead Preschool Teacher provides direction for the children in the classroom and implements program curriculum, ensuring a safe and structured environment for learning and developing.

 

Essential Functions (partial listing):

 

  • Leads group activities and collaborates with Preschool Supervisor to implement curriculum.
  • Helps maintain a safe, clean, well-organized and structured environment that meets Health codes, licensing and Y Standards.
  • Assists preschool children with daily needs (bathroom, lunch, swim, quiet/nap time, behavior etc.).
  • Entertains preschool children with songs, games, reading books, etc.
